Why teams move to Snag
Two reasons, and the first is the invoice. Disbug charges per seat: the Pro row reads $19 a month, or $16 a month billed $190 a year, and the tier above it is $50 a month with ten members included and $5 a member after that, so the bill grows with the roster. A Snag workspace pays one flat fee and never counts people. The second reason is the last mile. Disbug says plainly that it does not fix bugs itself, and that the reasoning, the change and the test all happen in the agent you drive. That is fine on a good afternoon and expensive on a bad one, because somebody has to be at the keyboard for it. A Snag fix run does that step unattended, and what it hands back is a pull request with a failing-then-passing repro test attached.
What carries over
Your agent, first of all. The MCP server is included from the Capture plan up, so whatever you have wired into Cursor, Codex or Claude Desktop keeps reading captures — it just reads them from here. The install shape does not change either: one snippet on the page, nothing for the person filing the report to sign up for, and no licence to buy on their behalf. What lands is a session replay with the console and the network attached, masked in the browser before anything uploads — inputs are never recorded. A ticket in Jira or GitHub links back to it.
What you give up
Three things run the other way. Selective field fetching is the big one: over the Disbug MCP server an agent asks for the console log, or the screenshot, or the network on its own, where the Snag server hands over the bundle for the ticket it was asked about. The Disbug capture reaches a little further at the edges, into the DOM selector and local storage that Snag does not collect. And a Disbug recording can be a narrated video walkthrough annotated as it records, which explains a design problem better than a screenshot with arrows on it. If any of the three is load-bearing for your team, Disbug is doing a job Snag does not.
How switching works
Nothing is imported, so this is a clean start rather than a migration. Setup runs to three steps: paste the embed snippet, verify the domain it may record on, and connect Jira or GitHub. Nobody needs an account or a licence to file a report, so there is no roster to re-invite and no per-person cost to plan around. If you want your own agent on the other end, point it at the MCP server and carry on; if you would rather not, the built-in run opens the pull requests instead. Snag never auto-merges, and the agent works only inside a disposable sandbox that is destroyed when the run ends.
