Your testers already know what broke.
Snag sends the proof with it.
A tester halfway through a regression pass writes a better report than any tool will. What they cannot hand over is the request that returned an error, the exception that never reached the screen, or the state the page was in at the moment it went wrong. One script tag on the dev, staging or UAT build attaches all of it to the write-up they were already going to file.
The problem
A test pass produces the thing every tracker asks for and rarely gets: real steps, an expected result, an actual one. The gap is underneath. Steps record what a person did — they cannot record the failed request behind the spinner, the console error that was swallowed, or the click that landed on nothing. So the ticket arrives readable and unactionable, a developer re-walks the build to collect what the tester already watched happen, and the same pass is paid for twice. Then there is the second cost, which is quieter: when reporting is priced per person, somebody has to decide which contractors and which cross-functional reviewers are allowed to raise a defect at all. That is a rationing decision, and defects are a bad thing to ration.
How Snag helps
One script tag on the pre-production build puts an always-visible pill on every page, and every tester has it with no invite and no account. One click starts recording; Stop opens the report form with the replay, the console and the network already attached, so the write-up happens once and arrives with its evidence underneath. The capture follows the session across navigation, which is what a multi-step flow needs, and the pill stays wherever each tester parks it. Personal data is masked in the browser before anything uploads — inputs are never recorded, so a tester working against a seeded account is not shipping that account's contents to us. None of it is metered per head: unlimited members on every plan.
What you get back
A ticket a developer can open once, with the session attached to it, and no round of "which browser, what did you click". On a fix plan you also get the attempt: the agent reads that captured session, works in a private copy of the repo, and runs your own suite against its change — a fix that cannot pass the tests you maintain is not offered as one. Nothing merges without a human, so what lands in front of you is a diff to review, not a deploy to undo. For a test team the second artefact is the useful one: a change that has already been exercised by your own suite, linked back to the recording that produced it. See how the agent works for the whole pipeline.
Questions people actually ask
Does every tester need a paid seat to file a bug?
No, and there is nothing to buy per person: unlimited members on every plan, including the free one. Filing does not even need an account — a tester on the build clicks the pill, and the report is authenticated by the workspace's own hashed key rather than by a login. That matters most for the people who are hardest to license: contract testers, a designer doing a pass before sign-off, the support lead you asked to try the new flow.
Can we run it on a staging or UAT build that is not public?
Yes — that is the build the always-on pill is meant for. It is one script tag on the dev, staging or UAT deploy, and recording is limited to the domains you have verified, so a staging host joins that list the same way a production one does. Nothing about the tester's flow changes between environments.
What happens to a ticket the agent cannot fix?
It comes back to your team rather than becoming a plausible-looking pull request nobody asked for. When there is no evidence in the code that matches what was captured, the agent stops and hands over what it found and where it looked, and that run is billed at half. The captured session is still attached either way, so a bug that defeats the agent is not a bug you have lost the evidence for.
