Why teams move to Snag
Teams give two reasons for moving to Snag, and neither of them is a feature. The first reason is how the bill is calculated. A Snag workspace pays one flat fee and never counts members, so the invoice does not move as the team grows. Usersnap publishes five tiers and both rates: Starter costs $59 per month when billed monthly, or $49 per month when billed yearly. The second reason is about the logs themselves. The Usersnap documentation states that the console recorder logs cannot be exported, and cannot be sent on to any tool it integrates with. An engineer who cannot open those logs from the ticket will end up asking for them again.
What carries over
The install shape does not change: one script tag, a widget anyone on the team can click, and no account for the person reporting. What lands is a session replay with the console and the network attached, with PII masked in the browser before anything uploads — inputs are never recorded. A ticket in Jira or GitHub links back to it. If a coding agent is already wired to your bug tool, that habit survives the move. The server hands it the same evidence, so the agent keeps working exactly as it does now, and the built-in fix run is available whenever you would rather not run an agent yourself.
What you give up
Three things go to Usersnap rather than Snag, and they are worth saying plainly. Its integration list is fourteen native destinations plus Zapier, where Snag reaches Jira and GitHub for now. Its screenshot editor carries five annotation tools, one of them for hiding sensitive parts of the page. And it has a native mobile SDK in beta for iOS and Android, where Snag is web only. If the people reporting bugs live inside a phone app, or the destination you need is not an issue tracker, Usersnap is the better pick.
How switching works
There is nothing to import, so this is a clean start rather than a migration. Setup is three steps: paste the embed snippet, verify the domain it may record on, and connect Jira or GitHub. Reporters need no account and no seat, so there is no list of people to re-invite and no per-person cost to plan around. From the first capture onward, fixes arrive as pull requests a person reviews; Snag never auto-merges, and the agent only ever works inside a disposable sandbox that is destroyed when the run ends.
Weighing the two head to head rather than switching? The Snag and Usersnap comparison answers the questions people ask most.
Where these details come from
Every Usersnap detail behind this page is sourced and dated on the page where we cite each Usersnap claim — each claim links to the Usersnap page we read it on, with the date we read it. Something out of date? Email admin@dvcllc.io and we will fix it.
